The Shows
This page is the doorway to the fiction side of the Marfa Strategy: a serialized creative-agency story told from inside the rooms where the work actually happens, populated by characters who were introduced in season one and now keep going on a weekly cadence.
What changed in June 2026
Season one of The Marfa Mavericks and The Marfa Munchies ran as daily fiction podcasts plus a five-platform social feed for each show across May and the first week of June 2026. The proof of concept worked: the rooms felt real, the cast held, the voices held. The maintenance load did not work: two to three hours a day of upkeep on top of running a real client practice.
The new model, effective the second week of June 2026, is simpler and sustainable:
- Mavericks publishes every Tuesday as a single long-form blog post on this site. The week's seven scenes are still written; they are now consolidated into one piece.
- Munchies publishes every Wednesday as a single long-form blog post on this site. Same model.
- No new podcast episodes for either show. The audio production pipeline is paused.
- No daily social feeds for either show. The Buffer queues stay empty.
- The narrative arc continues. Same characters, same week-by-week story, same continuity bible. The world is alive.

The deep dive
If you want to follow the craft underneath the fiction — how each week's episode was built, which storyteller tactic drove it, what the prehistory of each character looks like, the morning-after Marginalia long-form companions to Hope's diary — that lives at Marginalia. The deep-dive content moved into one place to keep this section about the shows themselves rather than the scaffolding behind them.
All characters are fictional. All content here is AI-assisted. Disclosure is in every post footer.
